Still a bum

I am having to borrow the hubs computer when I can...it bites! It takes all the restraint I have not to go and buy a new one :P

Lets see this is a big ol update about nothing..You are all chomping at the bit now huh!

Lets see the person I was being evasive about being in the hospital was my mom.She is out now...she was having a few issues some of them are resolving somewhat...blood issues the others not so much. She has more tests this week so she could use more prayers :)

Anyway,so with my mom in the hospital for a over a week, I had my little sister here :) It was fun. She is 13. So a three year old and a thirteen year old...fun times I tell you ;) Seriously, she was a life saver..it is hard to rangle Houston with this broken foot.

We went to the library a few times and somehow they managed to get in trouble with the library for loud talking everytime :O Poor Houston has no mute button and he talks like he is talking through a bull horn at all times. God help his new teachers this year. I bet his reputation has preceed him. They will say he is soooo sweet, he is a ham, but he never shuts up.The teacher told us last year he talks more than any other child she has taught in 15 years ....no kidding!?

He is so funny that you can't help but love him.

Lets see I borrowed all the PBS movies from the library. I am now an addict for all the shows when they make the people live in another time period. Love them.I am SUCH a nerd.

I could have told you that though. Jeremy had to go out of town with work...the In laws offered to take Houston so I had the house to myself so I could school shop. Friday, my sister went home and Houston went to his Nana's. I went to the thrift store...a guilty pleasure of mine...It's the thrill of the hunt. I then went to eat by MYSELF...then I went to the movies...by MYSELF...LOL. Then, I went to the bookstore. It happened to be the release party for Breaking Dawn..so here I was between people in costumes, bobbing for apples, getting vampire face painting...by MYSELF..yeah...a nerd. I was the only person there by myself:P

So then I woke up the next day and was ready to shop. I went to Gymboree first and got him $150 worth of stuff...it was a ton of stuff! I paid no more than $11 for anything..I got him like 9 short sleeve shirts,1 sleeveless shirt,3 long sleeve shirts, a pair of pants than can be rolled up for manpris :)LOL, and like 12 pairs of shorts..seriously!

Here is some of what I got.

I got him lots of other cut stuff..you get the idea. Got him lots of those little knit shorts easier for him to get off to potty.

I went to Children's place next got some more great deals! Went to Sears on my way out and got him like 15 shirts for $21.00. A lot of them were little polos! It was tax free weekend so I racked up!

Then went and got him the "Check" shoes he has been coveting for ever :) Along with a Speed Racer backpack and lunch box.

I had to get sooo many school supplies. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find fat pencils ???!!

Houston saw me packing all his supplies together and he said "Mama I not know it Christmas." Not quite son,not quite!

Anyway the rest of the weekend was boring.:P Later my friends called and they were free on Saturday :**) Oh well..alls well that ends well.

Gotta go pick up some makeup I preordered from Clinque tomorrow....I am tired of looking like I jaundice...olive complexion=sickly looking. I splurged but hey I needed it :P

Houston is back in school starting Thursday.I'll miss him!

Sounds like you had a fun time!!

Have you watched the Crawford (?) series on PBS? Love it!

Oh, and I have a 12yr old brother...aren't they fun to be around? He's been with us a little over a month now - on summer vacation. love him to pieces.

Glad you got all your shopping done for Houston. Can't wait to hear the stories of his school adventures! ;)

Seems like you had a fun 'ol time shopping for Houston. He's set for a long time! Lucky boy.
I just laughed when you said he talks really loud. Sounds like my daughter. Does he talk in your face and talk loud at the same time??? ;) That's what my daughter does.
My son starts kindergarten in a few weeks and we have to buy a ton of supplies too. He has to wear uniforms so I got him enough to last a week and I still need to get shoes! I'm in denial about how soon school is starting.
I hope you get your computer back soon!!

P.S.
I love those PBS shows where modern people are experiencing a different time period too. I really liked the Manor House. I thought the most interesting thing was the life of the servants.
I would love to see how it is to live as a Victorian woman...preferrably a wealthy one living in a grand mansion. ;)
I'm sure it's not as romantic as they make it out to be in movies.

Those are some sweet deals for Gymboree clothing! (I was a manager at a location here for almost a year)
I hope everything goes well with your mom's tests. I'll keep her in my prayers.
