Oh yeah...my laminated list...we all have one ;)

Found this on another blog, here is mine:
Mandy's Official Rules:

All people on the list must be alive. Unless you've figured out a way to bring people back from the dead there is absolutely no way that a posthumous selection can be made.
No selections can appear in more than one category.

"Barely Legal" selections must be between the ages of 18 and 23. Anyone younger is just icky and anyone older no longer fits the category.

"Older Men" must be at least 20 years older than you. And I mean to the day.
"Token Black Guy" is code for any selection of a race other than your own. And of course, you are not limited to only one person of a different race.

"No One Else Gets It" simply means that no one else gets it. It's that person that you love that when you say their name all your friends look at you like you're nuts.

"First Love" is the first major celebrity crush that you had.

"Singing Voice" is reserved for a celebrity that sings in say a movie or a tv show, but generally speaking is not really known for their musical abilities. It's about the way they sound, not the way they look. Bonus if they look good too.

"Speaking Voice" is any celebrity whose voice you love. Again it's about the voice, not the face.
"Animated" is just as it says--a cartoon. Yes, it's silly, but we're running with it. And be honest, own up to your true feelings. You know you love animated characters too.

"Fictional Character" selections are made based on the character and not anyone portraying them. This choice can come from a movie, TV show, book, etc.

The other categories are fairly self-explanatory, but if you're not sure just ask. Trust me, I'll give you my opinion.

Without Further Ado, I give you... drum roll... Possible Fathers Of My Future Children, In Case I Decide To Go That Route..the top five!

A few of my favorite things....

Okay, first things first. I was soooo very excited that I was going to get to do the Rite of Election at church this past Sunday......pumped...then we were going to go to Birmingham for a blessing from the Bishop..I have literally looked forward to this for years...the antipaction has been building the last few months....

Well on Saturday, they kept saying it was going to snow...it never snows here..they always threaten snow...so I sat out my cute outfit, accessories etc...and went to sleep with the same kind of anticipation you would have on Christmas Eve....

This is what I woke up too

I was still in denial called all the people I could at church, my sponser etc...then I realized we had ****gasp**** ice and I knew that it was going to be impossible...

Soooo sad, it was like Santa not coming. I missed Mass. As did some others and the group didn't get to see the bishop :*( Sad....I tell you...

I so hope we are in our new church by Easter.

Okay, on to other things..... randomness....

Ten things that make me ....well me :

1.I love to read...I have been reading since I was 3 and have always loved it.
2.I also love History...I am a huge history buff.... I devour books on tudor History, etc.
3.I have an addiction to TV Seasons on DVD, they are the perfect length for my treatments that I have to get...we get through a whole season.
4.I am fascinated by religions....I think they are all facsinating.
5.I also can not turn my eyes away from those kiddie beauty pageants....it's like a train wreck...I am horrified but can't look away.
6.I think I am part chewbaca...I could so grow and rock a unibrow.
7.I love tatoos...I think you either love them or hate them...I love them. I soooooo want some on my feet....is this weird?
8.I wish I lived closer to family.
9.I admit I think about especially the last baby I lost a lot even though I know she was never meant for an earthly life...I still wonder how I would have been as a girl mommy.
10.I wish I could see my mom's side of the family more.....I miss my crazy lebanese family....or as I told my kindie teacher " My Lesbian Family ;) "

Monday, February 16, 2009

This should make for an interesting convo with the teachers....

Houston has started "Viva Viagra" :P Yeah, not cool.

I keep trying to tell him it is a trashcan song but he isn't getting it.:P Nice.

Only my kid...I offically hate those commericals even more .

I am kinda bummed. I am going to have to miss Moms group at church tomorrow morning..which is bad enough but I am also going to have to miss watching Fireproof ***pout pout :( I hate doc appts. In good news those some more of my meds are on Walmart's 4 dollar list..yay me...gotta get my prescripts sent over there.

I so dread driving to the doc tomorrow but you got to do what you gotta do I guess.

The hubby and are trying to cut corners during this touch economic times. It is hard but worth it. I know I have always been very frugal but you don't realize how much the little 4 and 5 dollar purchases add up. :P They do and fast!

The hubby has also started eating more leftovers. Yay, him! He has always been anti-leftovers....I have brought him over to the dark side ;)

Sorry this is like the dullest blog post ever but I am tired and it's what is on my mind ;) Poor you. I am not sure anyone reads this thing anyway.

I need to post some pics but that would require taking some :P I usually take a ton not so much lately..not even sure why.

Anyway, hope life is treating everyone well.

We are trucking along here.

I am excited to report that RCIA is ticking along. I can take communion soon! Yay me! I am also pumped to say we should be in our new beautiful church soon. It is sooooooo pretty. We will be in it by Easter Vigil :) Can't wait.

Write more soon!

What I have I done for God today....

I think a lot of the time people tend to ask "What has God done for me"...whether it be for today or just in general.

I am trying to make a point to ask myself everyday "What have I done for God" today.

It can be little things like being kind to a stranger, a smile at a neighbor etc.

Just wanted to challenge you to do the same :)

Me me me..pretty spot on....

You Are a Red Crayon

Your world is colored with bright, vivid, wild colors.

You have a deep, complex personality - and you are always expressing something about yourself.

Bold and dominant, you are a natural leader. You have an energy that is intense... and sometimes overwhelming.

Your reaction to everything tends to be strong. You are the master of love-hate relationships.

Your color wheel opposite is green. Green people are way too mellow to understand what drives your energy.

You Were a Creative Kid

When you were a kid, you always had to be doing something with your hands.

Whether you were painting a picture or just doodling, you had to be creating something.

You were too busy thinking about your future creations to listen in school.

It's likely that every part of school was a challenge for you, except for art class.

You Are a Cartographer

You have a wide range of knowledge and you're very detail oriented.

You have a photographic memory, and you remember places very well.

Like a middle ages cartographer, you're also very adventurous and curious about the world.

In modern times, you would make a good non-fiction writer or scientist.

You Should Live in a Small City

You are definitely an urban person, but not any old city will do.

You want a city that matches you well. For you, big cities lack individuality.

You prefer a smaller city with lots of personality, local culture, and history.

You Are 93% Indie

You're so indie, it's kind of amazing that you actually found your way to this quiz.

Generally, your tastes are genuinely indie... but sometimes you like something just because it's weird!

Your Little Black Dress Says You're Quirky

You are lively and outgoing. You are naturally friendly.

You enjoy meeting new people and making new connections.

Your style is whimsical and unique. You're good at putting together interesting outfits.

If you were a shoe, you would be: High heeled boots

I want to be in the circus when I grow up!

"image from google "

This is what Houston told me and I couldn't agree more. I loved the circus just as much as I did when I was Houston's age.

I have to admit I would love to travel from city to city and be in the circus :) Is something wrong with me!?

It was great....Well worth the money!

Thought provoking questions....1,2,3,4 and 5

I have decided I am going to answer at LEAST five "deep" questions every week...in an effort for you all to get to know me better and to shake things up!Feel free to answer them in the comment section or on your blog as well!

1.Do you think God has a sense of humor?

Absolutely! We are created in his image. I think we all have a "God is getting a laugh out of this" moment! I know I have plenty.

2. How can we love our neighbors when we don't love ourselves?

This is tricky. I know I actually have more issues with loving myself than I do other people. I TRY to see God in others...but have a hard time seeing him in myself.I don't know why I judge myself by unattainable standards I would never judge others by. I have always had issues with self esteem. This is something I have been praying and working on. God loves us all the same. God loves my child as much as he loves me, he loves my friends as much as he does me, he loves the guy who broke into my car as MUCH as he loves me. Something to remember for sure.

3.What was a defining moment in your life.

I think life is a series of defining moments. Four I think of immediately are:

Getting sick. The day the doctor told me there was a tumor in my chest, I knew my life would be forever changed. I never imagined the path my life has taken. But I take the good with the bad and it is brought me here...so I don't regret it.

Finding out I was pregnant. I was so happy but so scared. The doctors had told me over and over again not to get pregnant for a year. I know see it was perfect in God's time. I feel so very blessed to have been given the gift of motherhood. There aren't words to describe the love you feel for your child.

Finding out my son was autistic. It wasn't necesssary the path I would have chosen or that I invisoned for my child but it makes him him. If God could take the autism totally away I wouldn't want him to. There is a reason for everything and I trust in God's plan. I also feel very lucky that God gave me such a wonderful support system. Houston is fearfully and wonderfully made. He isn't imperfect, just different :)

My last miscarriage. I think the reason this one hit me the hardest...was because I was farther along. We had seen her little heart. I was getting a belly....I was past the worrying stage and in the safe zone. I think in some ways it made it harder to know her sex. We later found out that she had a complete trisomy 8 and it is always fatal. This made me realize from the moment she was concieved that she was one of God's special angels. She was never meant to have an earthly life. That helps tremendously. I think of her and the other early pregnany losses as much my children as I do Houston. I think about them all the time. Wondering how different my life would be with 4 kids 4 and under but then realize that wasn't God's plan and trust in his timing, his love and knowledge.

4.If you could go back in time and make a different choice would you?

I can honestly say no.

Last but not least

5.If you could only wish for one thing for your child what would it be?

Wisdom. I think that if you have wisdom then all the other things love, God, understanding, family etc falls into place. So I pray that Houston will always wisdom:)

You can't handle it...the Name Game....

Use your name to come up with the answers...

Have Fun!!

I stole this idea from Melissa at Almost Catholic Momma's blog.

I put together my own list from a few others floating around.

Hey if you can't laugh at yourself....LOL

You know you are from Alabama:

If you call a garden hose a hose pipe.

Y'all is a word.

If a snowflake falls the town is shutdown for days.

Almost everyone you know is Baptist.

You know what potted meat is ....Yuck!

You know what a Meat and Three is.

You know someone with a mullet ;)

You have seen someone shopping barefoot.

You know someone uses a football schedule to plan their wedding date.

Stores don't have bags they have sacks.

A shopping cart is called a buggy.

Are you ready for the weekend?????!!

I am!

I am taking Houston and we are going to me my mom and little sister and we are going to see the circus tomorrow....fun times.

I loved going as a little girl. I can remember my mom would buy me the book that had the clowns in it and I would be too scared to open it. I hate clowns! LOL

I would also get a thing of cotton candy.

Those were the days I tell you.

Houston says he was to see the monkey bar thing...the trapeze I guess...LOL

That is one of my favorite acts too.

He is also pumped about the "human cannonball."

He will LOVE it!

I am so not excite that I am about to have to go run 900 errands :P

Gotta drop Crimson "The World's Oldest Dog" at the vet. He will thank me later >:(

Gotta go pay bills...the task I hate the most ;) Don't we all!

Yuck.

I am so tired I just don't want to do it. I have my treatment on Monday so that should help:P

Right now I am watching "Tru Calling." I never watched it before it got cancelled but I like it.Anyone ever watched it?

Oh I got my window fixed!Yay!

LOVE------LY

I recieved the gift that keeps on giving....

Lot of glass in the seats, a panicking child, the loss of some stuff......

You guessed it....My car was broken into.

Nice.

Houston saw it and said " Mama what happened." 'Did they steal me toys" "Daddy is going to have to fix it...**sigh."

The big thing they got was my GPS or as Houston says "Our GRS" LOL

Of course we had to eat the losses and had to pay for a window. Fun times I tell you.

It does look like they may have found the gps in a pawnshop I hope so.

What kills me is that they had to see Houston's carseat in the back and my bible was in the seat where the window was broken. Apparently, that didn't stop them :P

The hubby is vacumming the car for the 100 time...I got all cut of driving it home >:I

Things are a chhh chhhanging.

I had to change up the blog. I don't blame people for not visiting...heck, I didn't want to visit...I wanted to drive nails up my arms...before logging on. My problem is :

A. I am never happy with something.
B. I am the most indecisive person ever...I could have a gun to my head and would still have to analyze the situation.
C. I am very type A.
D. I second guess everything

And the list goes on and on.

Another problem....is ...get ready for this...I am ashamed to admit this....
**takes a minute to gather herself**

I think I was born.......

without the......

get ready for it.....

BLOGGING GENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh the horror!

Seriously, though..I feel like I am the MOST boring blogger on the planet.

I mean I feel like the blogging version of an ambien:P

I think I am pretty dang funny in real life..I was even voted class clown in high school. But I don't think it translates well on the computer.

I think maybe because you can't tell a person's a tone.

So people online think one of two things...

A. I am nuts.
B. Or a totally witch

I totally admit I am a little of both but not the best features ;)

I so wish I could hold everybody action with my fantastic wit but alas....it ain't going to happen.

I have no wonderful tails of my jet setting life...instead I have tales of potty training hell, tales of living in somewhere that isn't my first choice and tales of being a rebel in a frumpy mom's body.

I need to work on self confidence I think...it is such the disappoint to look in the mirror and be like I don't really look like that do I??? guess so....Time can be cruel I tell you!

I do have a super cute little man, even if he always looks like he is in need of a bath...**think Pigpen from Charlie Brown**. He is super funny...and already a 4 year old stand up comic.:) He brightens my day everyday:) I truly feel like I won a kiddo lottery.

Anyway, even though I have a crap camera and no photoshoping skills I think I will share pics just because....:)

Yeah...just just pretend....that's my motto:)

Here is a pic I call....

"What did I do to deserve this"

Yeah ttball is a No go for this year :)

Notice the expanse of leg showing...this is because he was wallowing around out in the outfield and we had to drag him to home plate ;)

I call this one....

" I am going to mark all in your bible when you aren't looking"

I call this

"I crack myself up!"

I call this....

"God, he is cute :)"

More pics later :)

Pics from the last few months...:)

At Zeke and Cassey's wedding...

Houston looks thrilled...LOL

Here is a pic of hubby, his twin and Houston...hubby is on the left.

style="float:right;

Tata for now...off to watch 1940's house :)

Houston funnies...

Houston is brutually honest.

On my birthday this year, he asked my age. Then looked so serious and asked what happened. I asked what he meant....he replied " You got so fat and look like a teacher."

Okay, what does look like a teacher mean in his eyes?? I have no idea.

He then told the hubby a few days later that he was getting a fat butt :O Ego Check...LOL

People were asking him at Christmas what Santa was bringing them...he told my little sister....."New Teeth" :*( She is about to get braces. I felt bad...she laughed it off.

He told my cousin Justin with his crazy lebanese curls he needed.....a "Comb".

Yeah, fun times.

He is so innocent in everything he says though...it can be cute.

Last night he went on and on and said he wanted to watch the bouncey show...we had no idea what he was talking about...he then told us..." You know the USO show...they crashed and bounced...LOL

We will put him in our lap and he watches an educational show til he falls asleep...he loves it...LOL

We start them off nerdy.......:)

I was going to take my son to the library but the car wouldn't start :P

So I will post a blog post if it kills me.

Lets see. I have feel behind because I have been bumming a computer for forever......I just couldn't justify spendning dough on getting the motherboard fixed. I still want to at some point though to get my pics but oh well.

Well imagine my suprise at Christmas when my wonderful brothers got me a little mini white acer aspire. I love love love it. It is the perfect size.

I was so pumped to take it around town with me today and low and behold my car wouldn't start. Hopefully, it is just the battery.

Cross your fingers:)

Okay, lets see on the 4th the hubby and I had our one year anniversary..we celebrated by watching Hanocock on demand....lol. We are so excitiing.

We have went through a lot in the 6 years we have been married. It was never in the plans to have major life altering surgery in the first few months of marriage :P

Yeah.

Anyway, her is a wedding pic...these were days before digi pics so bear with me.

In other news still fighting off the sickies. I have been fighting the same infections for months....not fun. Going to the doc tomorrow and my treatment is the next day...so hopefully, I will feel better soon :)

I have been getting involved more in the Moms grou at church. It has been fun. They are a great group of ladies :)

Houston had a great Christmas. I will try to upload a few pics later. Sadly, I didn't take many. I was helping him open and forgot about taking pics. Bad mommy!

Sorry I have been the world's worst blogger:P

I have been sick almost the whole last three months.

I have had ear infections, a lymphatic infection, lymodema, cellulitis, lung infections, salivary gland infections, infections of my other glands...you name it it has happened :P

I finally got feeling good enough and stopped running a fever and get 9 million new fever blisters a day and I get a stomach virus Thanksgiving night ;P

Yeah, I just may kiss my nurse when I see her to give me my transfusion on the 4th which happens to be my birthday. Nothing like having a blunt needle stuck in your chest that says "Celebration" :P Hey most years I am in the hospital :P I have even had surgery on my birthday :P

All I want for Christmas is some B and T cells :P It ain't going to happen.

I am just praying that I can stay well enough not to end up in the hospial during the holidays :P Been there done that, bought the shirt :P

Sorry to be a downer just worn out :P

On happier news...I will share some Houston funnies....

Last night he said ...
" jade, i growed in your tomach (stomach) like a veggiable (vegetable)" I tink I was an apple."

LMBO

He was very concerned after seeing Santa.

He got all serious and said

" Jade, when did Santa get so FaK (fat). He has a big ol' fak belly. Poor Santa."

He cracks me up.

We were telling him we have to help pappapw because he is almost like a baby.

He said " Pappaw is one OLD baby."

He says it all so serious and you can tell he is thinking so hard :)

I am proud of my booger.

I will update more postive things later.

I will feel kinda bad this week. Got my treatment and stuff but I will try to update.

I will be the big 72....I mean 27 for my birthday on Thursday. :P I feel 100.

Busy bee busy bee...

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days. I have been so busy. On Friday we had more testing to get the educational Autism diagnosis, actually PDD-NOS. It is on the autism spectrum. I didn't think it would take quite as long as it did. It took hours and hours and I had to be there the whole time. My brain hurt from all that thinking...LOL

We then drove a few hours away and went to his buddy Trent's bday. It was fun..but tiring. We spent the night and the party was Saturday. Candice is my hero for having like 20 kiddos and parents in her house. I would need a tranqulizer shot...lol

Then we drove home and of course Houston had a seizure so I felt like I needed to watch him like a hawk :P He makes me so nervous when he vomits with them because I am scared he is going to choke.

To say I am tired is an understatement...LOL

Today has kinda sucked eggs....seriously.

The hubby was off today and I was feeling overwhelmed having him and Houston home today... I am sooo Type A I can't handle not having a plan...I seriously could have used my Xanax prescription I haven't gotten filled today. I have 11 prescriptions left I think I may be getting on filled. It that makes me weak. Well then I am :P

I get so overwhelmed with what I need to do that I can become totally overwhelmed. I then start the panicking and crying. I know this is IRRATIONIONAL but still can't get ahold of myself.

My problem is I get way to into things. Today I decided to cook chicken. How many lbs do you think I cooked. Try about 4.5...so then I felt like I had to decide what to do with it. So I made 12 enchilidas :P I guess I am freezing some :P and a huge chicken pot pie and and I still have 2 lbs that I need to do something with :P I was in the kitchen for hours today cleaning and cooking. I need to manage my time better. I am not a good time manager :P

Am I the only one like this?

I am a flawed perfectionist. I get so focused on doing something that I can't see the forrest for the trees..kwim?

UGH!

Like the other day I spent ALL DAY totally reorgainzing the kitchen...I think I get almost "manic" about stuff. Does anyone else do this?

Anyway, I will be quiet before you think I am totally nuts.

Sorry for all the horrible acts of bad grammar and spelling. I am not even going to try to be correct. It's a losing battle.:P

She likes me she really likes me (Said in my best Sally Field voice)

These women in some way have made me a better person....whether it is by making me feel more normal, realize I am not alone, give me kiddo advice or advice on my faith journey :)

Love your blogs ladies!

Wanted to share...

We sung this at Mass today...it is probably my favorite Hymn.

Shepherd Me, O God
Lyrics
http://www.spiritandsong.com/musicondemand/songs/8450

Refrain
Shepherd me, O God,
beyond my wants,
beyond my fears,
from death into life.

1. God is my shepherd,
so nothing shall I want,
I rest in the meadowsof faithfulness and love,
I walk by the quiet waters of peace.

2. Gently you raise me and heal my weary soul,
you lead me by pathways of righteousness and truth,
my spirit shall singthe music of your Name.

3. Though I should wander the valley of death,
I fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
your rod and your staff,
my comfort and my hope.

4. You have set me a banquet of love in the face of hatred,
crowning me with love beyond my power to hold.

5. Surely your kindness and mercy follow me all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the house of my God forevermore.

Happy All Souls Day :)

All Souls Day
All Soul's Day (sometimes called the "Day of the Dead") is always November 2 (November 3rd if the 2nd falls on a Sunday).

All Soul's Day is a Roman Catholic day of remembrance for friends and loved ones who have passed away. This comes from the ancient Pagan Festival of the Dead, which celebrated the Pagan belief that the souls of the dead would return for a meal with the family. Candles in the window would guide the souls back home, and another place was set at the table. Children would come through the village, asking for food to be offered symbolically to the dead, then donated to feed the hungry.

The day purposely follows All Saint's Day in order to shift the focus from those in heaven to those in purgatory. It is celebrated with masses and festivities in honor of the dead. While the Feast of All Saints is a day to remember the glories of Heaven and those there, the Feast of All Souls reminds us of our obligations to live holy lives and that there will be purification of the souls of those destined for Heaven.

The Christian holiday of All Soul's Day pays respect and remembers the souls of all friends and loved ones who have died and gone to heaven. The living pray on behalf of Christians who are in purgatory, the state in the afterlife where souls are purified before proceeding to heaven. Souls in purgatory, who are members of the church just like living Christians, must suffer so that they can be purged of their sins. It is a time to pray for their souls that they may be received into heaven.

Upon death, it is believed that souls have not yet been cleansed of sin. Praying for souls of loved ones helps to remove the stain of sin, and allow the souls to enter the pearly gates of heaven. Through prayer and good works, living members of the church may help their departed friends and family. There are three Requiem Masses that are said by the clergy to assist the souls from Purgatory to Heaven: one for the celebrant, one for the departed, and one for the pope.

The traditions of the Feast of All Souls began independently of the Feast of All Saints. The Feast of All Souls owes its beginning to seventh century monks who decided to offer the mass on the day after Pentecost for their deceased community members. In the late tenth century, the Benedictine monastery in Cluny chose to move their mass for their dead to November 2, the day after the Feast of all Saints. This custom spread and in the thirteenth century, Rome put the feast on the calendar of the entire Church. The date remained November 2 so that all in the Communion of the Saints might be celebrated together.

Many customs are associated with The Day of the Dead celebration. In the home an altar is made with an offering of food upon it. It is believed that the dead partake of the food in spirit and the living eat it later. The ofrendas (offerings) are beautifully arranged with flowers such as marigolds (zempasuchitl), which are the traditional flower of the dead. There is a candle placed for each dead soul, and they are adorned in some manner. Incense is also often used, and mementos, photos, and other remembrances of the dead also adorn the ofrenda.

It is also traditional in some areas to see the play Don Juan Tenorio. Paper mache and sugar skulls are popular, as are cardboard coffins from which a skeleton can be made to jump out. Special masks are also worn, allowing a person to achieve a facial expression for which they feel they are inadequate to achieve.

Traditional Catholics still honor customs related to the relief of the souls suffering in purgatory. One custom is for persons to pray six Our Fathers, Hail Mary's and Glory Be's for the intentions of the Pope in a church, and thereby, receive a plenary indulgence for a soul in purgatory. This action may be repeated for another soul, by leaving the church and re-entering it to repeat the prayers.

All Soul's Day lives on today, particularly in Mexico, where All Hallows' Eve, All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day are collectively observed as "Los Dias de los Muertos" (The Days of the Dead). First and foremost, the Days of the Dead is a time when families fondly remember the deceased. But it is also a time marked by festivities, including spectacular parades of skeletons and ghouls. In one notable tradition, revelers lead a mock funeral procession with a live person inside a coffin.

Houston funnies and and updates!

Houston is soooo stinking funny. He changed schools last week and he has been a wealth of funnies about the whole transition.

The hubby and I felt like heels when we figured this jewel out.....The hubby and I asked Houston who his best friend was in his class. He told us "Eweston" (Houston). We ofcourse thought he was misunderstanding us...he still has issues processing stuff sometimes. Well we thought he was trying to be funny at first. Then we decided he had an invisible friend after he started talking about "The Other Houston." Well fast forward a week and I am dropping Houston off and I see a cubbie with Houston C. and think why do they have his middle intial on there. I look right next to it and you guessed it....there was Houston B. There is another Houston in his class :P It never even entered Jeremy and I's mind. We don't hear the name often and no teacher mentioned it :P

Oh well.

Houston is loving his new school. Weight lifted from my shoulders! They did a cute little "Preschool Circus." I took lots of pics..I will upload them soon.

Other news......well it isn't news it's just random thoughts. Have you all noticed more homeless people in your area? It breaks my heart. Today I was driving by and I saw the saddest looking guy with a sign that simply said "Hungry." I felt like God was telling me " Go get him Food." I went to Dollar General and got him some snacks, crackers, beef jerky, and a few other things that I thought may would keep him full and some gaterade to keep him hydrated. I was kind of nervous to give the stuff to hime because I wasn't sure if he had been drinking or something. I went and gave him the food, I didn't have Houston with me. His eyes lit up when he saw the $10 or so in food I got for him. It broke my heart. He was so sincerly grateful, he kept telling me "God Bless you." I am still sad about how "Broken" he looked. :( I counted 7 other homeless people on the way home :( It is getting worse and I fear it will get even worse before it gets better with the economy.

Sorry for the random ramblings. It was just on my mind. :(

I will update more later...blogger is having issues ;)

Remember tomorrow!

Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day: Take Action

October 15th is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States. More than 25,000 children are stillborn in the United States every year leaving mothers, entire families and communities devastated. Estimates of the rate of occurrence of stillbirth make it at least as common as autism.

Stillbirth is not an intractable problem. Greater research would likely significantly reduce it's incidence, but good research requires good data. H.R. 5979: Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act is under consideration by Congress. This proposed bill would standardize stillbirth investigation and diagnosis, thus providing more data for the needed research. Better research means fewer children born still.

On October 15th, remember the thousands of unfinished children lost and the families who remain to grieve them. Honor them by taking action. Let's help pass H.R. 5979.

Action Steps

Step 1. Use Your Blog to Enlist Others-Copy the contents of this entire post and publish it on your blog immediately.
GOAL: Enlist 10 of your readers to spread the word

Step 2. Use Your E-mail to Enlist Others-E-mail 5 bloggers and ask them (nicely and in an unspammy way) to publish these action steps on their blog. Consider contacting celebrity bloggers, political bloggers, medical bloggers, or bloggers who are not part of your reading community.
GOAL: Enlist 3 bloggers outside of your normal blog sphere to spread the word in other online communities.

Step 3. Help Pass the Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act-By October 15th, publish a post on your blog supporting H.R. 5979 Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act. For maximum impact, title your post: "Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act."
GOAL: 1,000,000 Google results on October 15th when that term is searched for. Currently, Google only returns 20,400 pages - most of which have nothing to do with the bill.

(****I totally stole this from my friend Dana's blog!****)

Regular updates!!

Lets see I have been oh so sick....it has been miserable. I have had the lymph node eventually absess and infection spread. Of course since my immune system was done I ended up getting more sick. Yeah, not fun.

Finally like 7 meds and three shots later I am not running a crazy fever :P

I would be grateful for any spare prayers ;)

Houston is starting a new school tomorrow. I feel bad for him. He was having a problem being handsy and keeping his attention so he he swapping to the school where there are more aids in the class. Please say a little prayer that school goes well for him. I am begging ;)

He has gotten so funny. His speech has gotten so much better. The teacher thinks speechwise he should be pretty well caught up in by the end of the school year :) She says he has made more progress than most of the kids make....so we are so thankful for that.

Anyway, funny recent Houston sayings....

He told us the other day that they learned about Danger and Safety. I ended up stubbing my toe the other night and kind of whimpered. Houston asked me if he needed to call "991, and if it was an Emergency." LOL

He then told me they would send the police to arrest the bad guys or the firemen who put out fires and got cats...LOL

He is sooo stinkin cute.

He tells his daddy every night that he is his "Bessie Buddy" (Best Buddy). He then says he is "Jade's Baby." Aw!

Anway, I will update more later. Still bumming a computer looks like the motherboard will have to be replaced on mine :P

Seeing Red

Yeah, I think Houston has Scarlet Fever again. Gotta take him to the doc tomorrow to confirm.Everytime he is exposed to strep he gets it in the rash form....lovely.

Jeremy had to go get medicine yesterday to the tune of $250 :P

I am starting to feel bad despite more antibotics than normal. UGH

I started RCIA tonight. Loved it!

The priest cracks me up. He said he just assumed I was Catholic he was suprised to see me..there lol.

Houston Fishing with daddy

Well the hubby and Houston were in the wedding this Saturday and Houston did pretty well. He did start to run at the end of the aisle. He said he was going to his daddy..LOL

I did have to grab him though when he started to get antsy. All in all it was better than I thought it would be.

I have to go get my front end aligned and my tires replaced tomorrow. One of my tires got cut when the lady backed into me the other day :P Fun, and expensive!

On the 10th I start the whole RCIA process. I can't wait!

Houston has school tomorrow.I hope he does good, he had to miss a few days last week for the wedding.

Anyway. I will write more later. Just wanted to let you know I was alive ;)

Rainy Tuesday and updates

Okay lets see. We have been busy the last few weeks.

Houston started school. He loves it. He has been doing okay I think. He has been having a probably in small groups and centers. A lot of the prob I think is he has a short attention span and he is also like the youngest kid in his class (he made the cut off by one day.)

He had a 4th bday party with his class on Friday. He talked about it the whole weekend. On Saturday we went to CEC and had a small party with some of his friends. He loved it! I have a few horrible snapshots I will share later. I cannot believe he is 4 :**(

He got a ton of transformers so he was a happy camper.

We went to church and then just took it easy the rest of the day on Sunday. We gave him a few more little gifts because it was his actual beday.

Yesterday, we didn't have any plans. Houston was acting kidda puny from allergies so we hung inside most of the day. I played with Houston and watched the 90210 marathon. Exciting stuff I tell you! The new 90210 comes on tonight and I am kind of excited. I am so pathetic :PIt is a guilty pleasure. I remember thinking they seemed so much older and grown up. I was watching yesterday and realized they were in the same grad class as the hubby, the Class of 93...LOL Whoops.

The hubby and Houston are in a wedding this Sunday. I hope Houston does okay. I took him to get his hair cut this weekend and it is the worst haircut ever. I have to go get it fixed :P

I also have to call progressive because some lady hit me on Friday when I went to drop Houston off at school. :P I swear the black cloud follows me ;)

The hubby has been having problems with his MS so he could us the prayers if you could spare them!

I know this isn't exactly a "edge of your seat" kind of update...guess I am just boring! **shrugs**
